You are the backbone of sales and marketing.

Marketing Operations is critical to growing a business and you know it.   To make great decisions based on data, you have to have numbers you can count on.   The data has to be right. The systems have to be watched. The processes have to be followed.   

We don’t do this.  We need your help.


Here are some of our problems we need you to solve.

  • Leads, customers and prospects fall thru the cracks.   It’s true. We get lots of leads and have lots of customers, our system isn’t optimized to see which ones get abandoned.
  • We don’t have clean actionable metrics from web traffic through to closed won.   Sure we can measure closed won, but back that up 7 steps and you’ll start to peer into “mystery land” Without clean data, we can’t make great decisions.
  • We have a mish-mash of marketing tools that integrate with Salesforce; and they like to fight with one another.   We need your help making sure our tools connect, work and drive productivity across the sales and marketing teams.
  • Salesforce is not optimally laid out, nor processes defined and followed, making some of our numbers questionable at best.   This goes back to point #2, but really what we are saying is we need your help and intelligence to help propose solutions and fix the root cause problem. We don’t want someone who just pushes buttons. We need someone on the team that is tactical and strategic. It’s a tough fit.

What you’ll be doing - and why it’ll be exciting.

  • Own the marketing and sales technology stack.   Lots of tools (SFDC, Pardot, Salesloft, Inside Sales, etc all integrating with Magento (you don’t have to own that, that’s just an FYI).
  • Make sure the numbers we see are trustworthy.   We know that you are a big piece to help Reliant love and serve customers - and grow!
  • Help provide insight that drives accountability.   We need someone who is persistently vigilant and at the same time KIND.  Accountability works and we need you to help make sure all parties are living up to their agreed to agreements.
  • Lead outside contractors, such as Salesforce developers.  We don’t expect you to be a Salesforce developer. We have contractors that can help with the heavy lifting.  We do expect you to manage these relationships.
  • Elevate the culture of the company and help raise the effectiveness of sales and marketing. We saved the best for last. We define culture not as ping pong but as the ability to bring real issues to the surface, solve them well, and create great things customer want.    We need meaningful work and meaningful relationships to make this happen. We want a special person who walks in and helps take our culture to another level.


This won’t be easy - so don’t apply if this makes you worried.

Sales processes are ill-defined and not followed.

Why? - For one, there are a lot of work-arounds in Salesforce.   Two, we suffer from a lack of accountability. We need your help and analytical eye to help fix it.

Some technical pieces are broken and are not presenting accurate data.

There are a lot of tools we use: Salesforce, Pardot, Cirrus, Salesloft and more - and from time to time, there’s a bug, tweak or issue that causes a break in the technology.  

Our data is so so.    

I don’t even understand this as well as I should.  I know there is SFDC data and Pardot data and Salesloft lists… What I do know is that the numbers can’t be trusted and if we are going to scale we need solid clean data.


A few things we know must be done (you'll tell us even more....)

  • Fix our leaky funnel
  • Spot and analyze opportunities to grow
  • Put processes in place that are common sense, practical and can scale
  • Optimize the tech stack to work for the team


You’ll probably have this sort of background.

First and foremost you’ll be an expert at communication.  You’ll have experience with a lot of this coming in:

  • Marketing operations
  • Data analysis
  • Salesforce administration
  • You’re an Excel junky
  • Communicating complex subjects in a way that’s easy to understand
  • Big “J” on the Meyer’s Briggs.   8 on Kolbe Fact Finder.
  • Marketers soul with a technologist’s heart.


We’re looking for a brilliant mind to join our team, the title is Marketing Operations X.  The X is based on your experience. Specialist/Manager. If you get overwhelmed and are are easily frazzled, this is not a position for you.  I wish it could support all personality types, but it can’t. You have to have the chops and will to succeed; it will take a lot of work.

Our office feels like California, is located off of Howell Mill Rd in Atlanta, GA.  Pearl Jam, Flume & Chet Faker and Smooth Jazz all played on the Sonos in the background today.
